====== Cloud radar JOYRAD-10 ====== \\ //Cloud radar JOYRAD-10 installed at Jülich// ===== Principle ===== **JOYRAD-10** is a vertically pointing X-Band Doppler cloud radar MIRA-10 manufactured by METEK GmbH. It is located at the Forschungszentrum Jülich as part of JOYCE. It has been installed as part of the Emmy-Noether research group OPTIMICE led by Stefan Kneifel in order to perform triple-frequency radar observations in combination with Ka- and W-Band radars. ===== Measurement modes ===== * Vertically pointing observations with integration times up to 1 seconds. ===== JOYCE-CF Standard Operation Procedures ===== * Standard measurement mode is vertically pointing, 2 second integration time ===== Calibrations and data quality assurance procedures ===== * Check with co-located disdrometer to find out reflectivity offsets * Consistency check with other cloud radars ===== Data availability ===== Data for JOYRAD-10 are available on request.
