====== OTT Pluvio 2 L at Ny-Ålesund ====== //Mentor: Pavel Krobot, Data: Kerstin Ebell// OTT Pluvio 2 L at AWIPEV Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, next to the atmospheric observatory. ===== Measurement principle ===== The OTT Pluvio 2 L is a precipitation gauge basing on a weighing measurement principle. It detects both liquid and solid precipitation by weighing the bucket content. The following values are recorded: * intensity * accumulated intensity * bucket filling level * temperature load cell The instrument is equipped with a orifice rim heater to prevent accumulation of snow and ice on the orifice rim. ===== Data ===== If you are interested in receiving data, please contact Kerstin Ebell Quicklooks ===== Deployment ==== ^ Period ^ Place ^ Project ^ | 21/10/2025 - today | AWIPEV, Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard | (AC)3 | | 08/2017 - 14/11/2024 | AWIPEV, Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard | (AC)3 | ===== Specifications ===== ^ Parameter ^ Specification ^ | Orifice opening | 400 cm² | | Recordable precipitation amount | 750 mm | | Rain rate Minimal intensity | 0.05 mm/h | | Rain rate Maximal intensity | 500 mm/h | | Product Temporal Resolution | 60 s | | Rain rate resolution | 0.6 mm/h | | Dimensions (diameter x H) | 225.7 mm x 665 mm | ===== References ===== **Ebell, K., C.
