Pluviometer
Principle
The OTT Pluvio 2 is a precipitation gauge basing on a weighing measurement principle. It detects both liquid and solid precipitation by weighing the bucket content. The following values are recorded:
- intensity
- accumulated intensity
- bucket filling level
- temperature load cell

- Temporal resolution 1 minute
- Precipitation amount
- Particle concentration and fall velocity per velocity class and diameter class)
- Equivalent radar reflectivity factor from particle size distribution (6th moment)
- Fall velocity in 32 classes (0.05, 0.15, 0.25, 0.35, 0.45, 0.55, 0.65, 0.75, 0.85, 0.95, 1.1, 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 1.9, 2.2, 2.6, 3, 3.4, 3.8, 4.4, 5.2, 6, 6.8, 7.6, 8.8, 10.4, 12, 13.6, 15.2, 17.6, 20.8 ms-1)
- Particle diameter in 32 classes (0.062, 0.187, 0.312, 0.437, 0.562, 0.687, 0.812, 0.937, 1.062, 1.187, 1.375, 1.625, 1.875, 2.125, 2.375, 2.75, 3.25, 3.75, 4.25, 4.75, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21.5, 24.5 mm)
